The ESSIC-administered Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites-Maryland (CICS-MD) hosted a two-day NOAA Workshop on Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Life-Cycle Data Reprocessing to Advance Weather and Climate Applications. First day activities focused on S-NPP instruments, their anomalies, and user recommendation for improvements. On the following day, presentations highlighted improvements and advances to the calibration and validation algorithm required for reprocessing applications, as well as the potential impacts of reprocessing for climate and weather forecasting. Over 70 participants attended the two-day event.
