Former Kenney student recognized in paper competition

Venkata  Prava, A former Ph.D. student of ESSIC Research Assistant Professor Melissa Kenney, was recognized as a runner up in the 2016 Decision Analysis Award (DAS) student paper competition.  The paper entitled, “Partition Dependence and Carryover Biases in Subjective Probability Assessment Surveys for Continuous Variables: Model-based Estimation and Correction,” was produced as part of an NSF grant that was awarded to Kenney and Prava’s other advisors.  Prava will receive a DAS certificate of merit at the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) annual meeting held in Nashville, TN in November 2016.
